My nephew is next up in the quilt queue. My sister & I spent some time in April/May figuring out which fabric to use. I narrowed it down to a few choices with her help & we presented the options to him. He ultimately decided on the "Best in Show" fabric.

I went through a couple of layouts before I decided what I wanted to do. At first, I was thinking about doing a 9-patch square block pattern. Then I decided I didn't love it. So, I moved to a diagonal layout. The first time I did it, I felt like there was too much brown clumped together, so I re-did it.

| Layout 3 is the winner! |
After confirming with my sister that layout 3 was, in fact, the winner, I let it sit for a while. We were kind of in the middle of moving. I finally picked it back up & got the top sewed together. Now to figure out what to do for the backing.

I decided to do a strip of a couple of the fabrics - with a pink poodle center - surrounded by a pink fabric that my nephew also picked out (from a choice of 3 options). I love how it turned out - and apparently so do my lil furbabies!
I LOVE how this turned out. I used the blue as the binding because there's so much brown on the one side & PINK on the other. The blue really balances it all out nicely. Thankfully in the pictures, you can't tell that there are some puckers on the backing. I wasn't too thrilled with that. I can't find my seam ripper, so that's a problem. Either way, I can't wait to give it to him!
Since every quilt needs a label & name, here's the one for this quilt. I need to attach it to the quilt still.
